Picked up a seasoned 350 4-bolt block to turn into a coffee table off Craigslist for $100. Looks to be a good serviceable block too, 010 block so its 10 % nickel. Came with rods and pistons if we decide to go that route. Funny that I got it cheaper than a core.
Probably won't get it finished any time soon as Xmas is this week and moving into the new place directly after that.
need to degrease. Might see what it would cost to hot tank and clean up at the machine shop if we're gonna keep it for a while.

This should be interesting. I can't wait to see the result. How heavy is it? I wonder if aluminum block would work better.

Also look up engine rebuilders for cleaning. I may be looking to go that route.

I'd say about 160 I can lift it by myself but it is a bit heavy.

Did you paint it or machine it?
Looks great!

Just cleaned up the deck surfaces with a sanding block and painted all the other surfaces black.

How did you go about affixing the rods to the block?
